Oh my, how did we get to Holiday Project 4 already? Time is flying by this year. Here's an easy quilt to make. I made it in a day. It's 12" blocks on point. Every other row is cream to give the quilt an argyle look. It measures 57" x 68", perfect for a throw on the couch.
If you want to make the exact quilt I made, you'll want to cut 20 patterned blocks and 12 cream full blocks, 12 half blocks, and 4 quarter blocks. I used my 12.5" square ruler and it was a breeze.
Here's an image for reference when laying out the blocks.
Once I had the top pieced it was time to quilt. This is how I like to make my quilt sandwich. I learned this hand technique from Amelie Scott on YouTube. I love this method because you don't have to crawl around on the floor, which was my prior way of doing things.
I choose to quilt in straight lines on the diagonal so they ran along with the seams of the quilt top. It's super soft and cuddly, the quilted lines make it bend and move easily.
Binding is the last step.
These fabrics are all from my Jolly Holiday in the City Collection from In The Beginning Fabrics.
Send me a picture if you make one!
Happy Holidays,
